A recommendation engine is an algorithm or AI that uses the user data to recommend other items that are likely of interest. The applications for this are extremely general. From ecommerce to suggest other products to buy, photos on photo platforms the user might like, posts on social media, videos on video platforms, profiles on dating web sites, etc.
